This is blog post number 2 about my journey to becoming a software engineer.
Let me share my goals that I hope to achieve with the help of this apprenticeship:
- I want to gain the knowledge that will help me market myself as an expert in web applications. As a freelancer, I want to be able to charge top dollar. With website and even smartphone app builders that improve constantly, I feel that the value of a developer will lie in the mastery of the backend.
- Therefore, I hope to become very good at complex data manipulations, business logic operations, and API integrations that I believe classic builders will never be able to create/substitute.
- I want to be able to understand and contribute to open-source libraries. I read so often that it is important for developers to read other people’s code, but I feel that I lack a proper procedure.
